Yuvraj Singh will be playing his 300th One-Day International for Team India when he will walk on the green field of Edgbaston, Birmingham for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final against Bangladesh on Thursday.
It is a career milestone for the born-fighter all-rounder who was just as fierce defeating cancer as he is against bowlers of any teams against him. To celebrate this achievement, his pal and Indian off-spinner Harbhajan posted a video on Twitter, wishing him luck.
The Turbanator became nostalgic while addressing Yuvi in the video. He recalled that as kids, both of them never thought that there will come a day when Bhajji would have played 100 Test matches and Yuvi 300 ODIs wearing the Team India jersey. He thanked God for the opportunity.
"Yuvi, tu true champion hai. Tune Life mein bhi jeet haasil ki hai, maidan mein bhi jeet haasil ki hai," continued Harbhajan.
He said that he wishes that Men in Blue win today and he gets see Yuvraj as man of the match.
Talking about his career milestone, Yuvraj Singh had said that he would love to be called a 'fighter.'
"I don't know about [being] the role model, but it's a big achievement for me to finish 300 games in my career. It is huge honour. When I started playing for India I was happy just playing one game for India. That would have been a big achievement for me, but it's come a long way. There have been ups and downs, and I am proud of myself. I have come through and still managed to get to 300. At one stage I was thinking if I was going to play another game," Yuvraj said.
The flamboyant batsman added, "It is a big achievement for me. I am not going to do anything special. I think the team is much more important than my 300th game. We are focussing on our semi-final. I think Bangladesh have been doing really well in the tournament. We want to contribute towards our plans. We have to win this match at any cost. I am not focussing on my 300th game."
