The never-before-seen visuals of former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan passionately expressing his frustration towards his big brother Yusuf after a shocking run-out dismissal at the World Championship of Legends captivated social media on Wednesday. In a dramatic turn of events, Irfan found himself sacrificed at the non-striker's end by his elder brother during the intense clash between India Champions and South Africa Champions.
Following the unfortunate mix-up, a visibly upset Irfan was caught on camera berating Yusuf, demanding to be informed beforehand.
However, post-game, a composed Irfan was observed extending a heartfelt gesture of reconciliation towards his sibling. A heartwarming video circulating on social media showcased Irfan kissing Yusuf's forehead and embracing him after the match.
The heated confrontation between the Pathan brothers unfolded in the 18th over of the India Champions' run chase, as Irfan struck a delivery from Dale Steyn towards deep covers. Despite initially taking a single, Irfan pushed for a second run, only to be halted by Yusuf's signal to stay put. With Irfan caught off guard halfway down the pitch, the throw from the outfield reached Steyn in time to dislodge the bails and dismiss him.
Although South Africa Champions emerged victorious by 54 runs, India Champions secured a spot in the semi-finals based on their superior net run rate.
