Pacer Trent Boult played an important role in the Mumbai Indians' second victory of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, however, one instance involving the left-armer caught everyone's attention.
The incident took place in the fifth over of the Sunrisers' batting innings, bowled by left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya. It was the final ball of the over and SRH skipper David Warner drove it towards the long-off boundary and the fielder at mid-off, Boult couldn't save it. But, it was the way he chased the ball that made everyone sit up and take notice.
The ball was going from the right of Boult and he was in two minds, to dive or not to dive and the outcome was somewhere in the middle of it and looked hilarious on the screen. Boult kept flapping his hands in the air as a swimmer does, but in the air and eventually fell down on the ground and the ball won the race and reached the boundary.
The viewers couldn't ignore the hilarious piece of fielding from the pacer, who took three wickets in the game. While some fans were remembered of the falling prices of their investment in stocks, some had an existential crisis.
