However, Azam has a different take on the comparison. The 24-year-old who was attending a function was asked about the comparison with Kohli to which he replied, “I often hear people comparing me with Virat Kohli. I think he is a very big player and I am not close to him in any sense as yet. I have just started my career while he has already achieved a lot. I want to achieve similar heights one day and if I am able to perform like that, you can compare me with him. But not now”.

Both cricketers have played an important role in the recent success of their respective sides. Azam has been a consistent batsman with 50+ in ODIs and is looked at as the big player for the Men in Green. The World Cup hopes do rely on this youngster’s shoulders.
