Earlier, India hoisted a massive target of 348 runs while batting first.

Team India skipper Virat Kohli is widely known for his athleticism and he once again proved everyone exactly why he is considered one of the best out-field players in world cricket during India's first ODI match against New Zealand at the Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday (February 5).

The 30-year-old pulled off a magnificent piece of fielding to dismiss set New Zealand batsman Henry Nicholls.

The incident happened in the 29th over when Ross Tayler tried to take a quick single off Jasprit Bumrah's third delivery of the over.

However, things definitely did not go according to plans when Kohli, who was fielding at the cover position, showed his lightning-fast reaction and went airborne to dislodge the stumps before Nicholls made it into the crease.

This wicket came at a crucial moment of the game as both the batsmen were set on the chase. Nicholls made 78 runs off 82 balls and his dismissal was later on confirmed after a DRS check.

Earlier, India hoisted a massive target of 348 runs while batting first.

Openers Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal knitted together a 50-run partnership before Colin de Grandhomme and Tim Southee secured back-to-back breakthroughs for New Zealand.

It is thanks to the power-pack hitting from Virat Kohli (51), Shreyas Iyer (103) and later on from KL Rahul (88*) which took India to a scoreline of 347/4 after 50 overs.
