World Cup 2019: Pakistan's win over New Zealand at Edgbaston, Birmingham has kept their qualification hopes alive.

While Babar Azam did finish the job for Pakistan, the initial lead was given to them by Shaheen Afridi. The bowler had figures of 3/11 from his first seven overs.

While the brilliant bowling did curb the Kiwis, it was Wasim Akram who was spotted giving tips to the youngster and pacer Mohammed Amir before the clash at Edgbaston.

When asked what he was said to Shaheen and Amir, Akram replied, “I told them to focus on the length they’re bowling & field-set for Williamson told Shaheen to bowl fuller than he has been bowling. At this level, small adjustments make all the difference.”

“I asked him to change his length. He had been bowling too short. I told him to pitch the ball up and attack the batsman. It seems he did listen to my advice,” the Sultan of Swing added on commentary.

Pakistan will next face Afghanistan on 29 June.
