David Warner has made a successful comeback alongside Steve Smith after serving a one-year ban for ball-tampering. After struggling against India, Warner's 107 of 111 proved to be the foundation of Australia's 41-run win against Pakistan on Wednesday in Taunton.
However, not his century but his approach after the game has left a fan feeling “awesome”.
For his efforts on the field, the left-handed batsman was awarded the Man of the Match award. However, the 32-year-old, while walking around the ground signing autographs and taking photos with fans, decided to give the award to a young Aussie fan.
“I feel awesome,” the young fan told the Cricket World Cup’s Zainab Abbas after the match.
“It’s pretty cool to have that. We were just waving the flag and he just came over and gave it to us. I really like him,” the young fan added.
Australia next face Sri Lanka on Saturday (15 June).
