Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik, who made his debut of a different kind during the World Test Championship (WTC) final, made a mark in more ways than one. Karthik made his commentary debut in the ongoing final between India and England, three months after he was part of the commentary team for England's broadcasters Sky Sports during the India-England limited-overs series in March this year.
Karthik was part of the first panel, which started the game from the first over to the eighth, alongside former England captain Nasser Hussain and former New Zealand fast bowler Simon Doull, the wicket-keeper batsman made an immediate impact.
While most of the fans and the viewers were impressed by Karthik's precision and insights and analysis on air, he took a cheeky dig at Nasser after the latter praised the opening batsman Rohit Sharma.“Rohit is a great puller of the short ball. Uses his feet well against spin. Shows positive intent,” said Hussain.
The whole thing started with Nasser Hussain praising Rohit Sharma's ability to play the pull shot beautifully and also commended his positive approach and play the spinner well too. “Rohit is a great puller of the short ball. Uses his feet well against spin. Shows positive intent,” said Hussain.
Karthik, instantly trolled him saying, "Yes, exactly the opposite of you."
After the response, the fans were in awe of Karthik more and loved his response.
