ATM fraud: BSF man robbed off Rs 10,000 by two men in Delhi's Sangam Vihar

According to the police, the accused were identified as Aniket and Gulshan, both 22-year-old and residents of the Sangam Vihar locality.

A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, who had gone to withdraw money from an ATM in the Sangam Vihar area, was created by two persons who had entered the ATM booth and later jammed it on Sunday. The accused men stood even though the transaction of the personnel was unsuccessful. The accused duo later managed to withdraw the money from the personnel's account.

According to the police, the accused were identified as Aniket and Gulshan, both 22-year-old and residents of the Sangam Vihar locality. The police have seized seven ATM cards and Rs 10,000 cash from their possession.

S Murghen, a BSF personnel, complained to the police that when he was withdrawing money from an ATM, the accused person also entered the ATM booth. One of them played a trick and put his hand on the ATM machine button resulting which the transaction hanged. The complainant again tried but couldn't withdraw money and left the ATM.

"I received a message on my phone regarding a transaction of Rs 10,000 after some time. I suspected the duo to be behind the foul play. They were waiting outside the ATM and when I asked them if they had done anything, the tried to escape on their bike. However, I managed to catch hold of them and recovered seven debit cards and cash worth Rs 10,000 from them," the complaint read.

"During the interrogation, the accused persons confessed to their involvement in the crime and revealed that had indulged in several other ATM card thefts from various places and had used them withdraw cash from the ATM booths," said Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).
