The party members led by Delhi BJP vice-president Rajiv Babbar and Yuva Morcha president Sunil Yadav, staged a dharna outside Congress Bhawan, demanding Sidhu's resignation.

The Yuva Morcha of Delhi wing of Bharatiya Janata Party protested against Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for "praising" Pakistan army during his visit to the neighbouring country last week on the occasion of the oath-taking ceremony of new Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The party members led by Delhi BJP vice-president Rajiv Babbar and Yuva Morcha president Sunil Yadav, staged a dharna outside Congress Bhawan, demanding Sidhu's resignation.

Raising slogans against Sidhu and Congress, the protestors cast aspersions at the party and the minister for motivating Pakistani army. They also criticised Rahul Gandhi for the same. Babbar, while addressing the BJP workers, said senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar and few others have regularly sided with Pakistan and addressed our arch rival in glowing terms. "By hugging Pakistan army chief, Sidhu has insulted our soldiers who continue to sacrifice their lives for the motherland selflessly," he said. He further said that the hugging act has brought disrepute to the forces and demeaned Indians too, demanding stringent action against former cricketer from Congress.

Yadav, on the other hand, said that all those youths who consider Sidhu as a role model are shocked and ashamed of their choice. "He has hurt sentiments of Indians across the length and breadth of the country. The Congress should immediately expel him if the party has even slightest of respect towards our soldiers in particular and the country at large," the Yuva Morcha head said.
