The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday stated that during questioning of the arrested accused Rishi Raj in bribery cases, one more name has cropped up.
Raj has revealed a name of a top functionary Delhi Medical Council Arun Gupta, and claimed that he is a close confidant of health minister Satyendar Jain. "More recoveries made in the series of chance recovery against Jain. Four hard-disk and three laptops recovered from the president of medical council of Arun Gupta and these are of Jain," CBI sources said.
The agency learnt about the hard disks and laptops of Jain during questioning of Rishi Raj, arrested on Saturday night.
The agency is also examining three laptops and other electronic gadgets are being examined seized from Raj residences. Raj was arrested in an unrelated case of corruption while demanding a bribe of Rs 1.1 crore. The complainant in the case claimed that Dr Raj told him part of bribe money "will go to the minister". Jain is being robed by CBI since last year in a disproportionate assets case.
