The Delhi Police have arrested an accused, who was involved in various auto-lifting cases from South-West Delhi's Nasirpur area. The accused has been identified as Ankush (20).
Ankush was previously employed as a bus conductor but after his friend Krishna alias KK lured him towards auto theft, he left the job and started to commit auto lifting on a routine basis.
In the quest to have a lavish life, Ankush along with his associates had lifted several motorcycles and scooters and later sold them to get easy money.
Ankush was apprehended after the special staff of the South-West Delhi Police had received a secret tip-off about his location. Following the lead, a raid was conducted near Nasirpur Sabzi Mandi from were he was arrested.
"We received information that the suspect was coming from Dabri to Nasirpur Sabzi Mandi. A trap was laid and the accused was nabbed during the raid," said Monica Bhardwaj, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-West district of Delhi.
The police team has recovered three motorcycles and one scooter from his possession and the interrogation to ascertain his involvement in other cases is still underway.
