A day after heavy rains lashed Delhi, the weather turned sultry on Monday. While the city received light showers and drizzle in some parts, high humidity level added to the hot weather.
The maximum temperature settled at 35.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius, one degree more than the season's average. The city recorded 40.5 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours, according to the meteorological department. The sky remained overcast throughout the day but high levels of humidity did not provide any relief. 88 per cent humidity was recorded by the Safdarjung observatory at 8:30 in the morning. It dropped down to 67 per cent at 5:30 in the evening.
The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky with light rain for the next two days. Mercury will hover between 36 to 35 degrees Celsius.

Humidity levels oscillated between 86 per cent at 8:30 in the morning to 91 per cent in the evening. The weatherman has predicted moderate rain on Monday. The sky will remain largely cloudy. Maximum temperature is likely to settle at 35 degrees Celsius.
