Delve into the world of Bengali books Monday onwards: National Capital

In a press release issued in Delhi, the Bengal Association stated that this book fair is touted as the third largest such fair outside West Bengal

The National Capital will host the 17th edition of the Bangla Boi Mela (Book Fair) and Literary Festival from Monday. It will have on display some of the best literary works in the language. The week-long event will be held at Kali Bari, Mandir Marg, till March 18.

In a press release issued in Delhi, the Bengal Association stated that this book fair is touted as the third largest such fair outside West Bengal. “It will have more than 60 stalls, not only from West Bengal, Tripura, and Delhi, but also from Bangladesh. It will also host some of the famous publishers from Bengal and will be inaugurated by eminent linguist Pabitra Sarkar,” the release said. 

The Bengal Association celebrates its diamond jubilee this year.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of Bengal Association, Tapan Sengupta, said, “Our main objective is to promote Bengali literature and culture during these seven days.” The fair will have two bookstalls from Bangladesh and three from Tripura, apart from literary discussions on various topics, including one with acclaimed sports journalist Gautam Bhattacharya.
