Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) officials on Tuesday during a ticket checking drive in South Delhi areas found as many as 103 passengers, who were travelling in its buses without tickets.
According to a senior official, during the drive, DTC officials found passengers travelling without tickets, some travelling more distance than the tickets purchased by them, non issue of tickets by conductor after collecting due fare, rash driving and improper parking of bus by driver, non stoppage of bus at proper bus stop and crew uniform.
The two hours long checking drive was conducted in several areas including Sarai Kale Khan, Ashram, Safdarjang Hospital, Nehru Place, Munirka, Hauz Khas, Krishi Bhawan, Hamdard Nagar, Katwaria Sarai, Dhaula Kuan, Bhikajikama Place, Lajpat Nagar,Andheria More, Paras Cinema and CGO Complex.
"The motive of the drive was to ensure smooth operation of DTC bus service and to plug the leakage of revenue through ticketless travelling," the official also said.
