The evaluation process, for about 1.2 lakh undergraduate and postgraduate students at 63 colleges, takes a month's time and then the department of examinations takes another month in order to release the results.

With teachers at the Delhi University (DU) boycotting evaluation process as part of their protest against the delay in appointment and absorption of ad-hoc teachers and Centre's autonomy move, the student fraternity raised concerns on Friday over the possible delay in the results.

The evaluation process, for about 1.2 lakh undergraduate and postgraduate students at 63 colleges, takes a month's time and then the department of examinations takes another month in order to release the results.

Every year, the DU semester end results start coming out by the month of July. The boycotting of evaluation process by the DUTA has led to anxiety and apprehensions amongst the students."I have got admission in a masters course in Mumbai University and I will have to submit my graduation results by the end of July. It will be really problematic for me if the result is not announced by then," said Sucheda Misra, a third-year BA (English) student at Kamala Nehru College.

Similarly, hundreds of students, who have secured seats in universities abroad, are also in a fix. "My application has been accepted in two foreign universities. Now, I have come to know that results might get delayed which has got me worried," said Sabeena Khan, a third-year Political Science student at Hindu College.

The DU Teachers Association (DUTA) gave complete boycott call on May 9 against the various issues in the university. "We have raised our concerns with the administration multiple times in the recent past. We have also protested at the UGC against the autonomy scheme and the March 5 circular on reservation but to no avail. Teachers are forced to resort to this form of protest. The university is running in an autocratic manner," said DUTA president, Rajib Ray.

DUTA will hold a General Body (GB) meeting on May 21 to decide further course of action.
