Former union minister Jagdish Tytler lodged an FIR on Thursday against the president of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) for releasing a "doctored" sting operation video as proof against him, related to the 1984 riots. It was about three days ago, when the Akali Dal leader had released the video, claiming the tapes were dropped at his house by someone unknown.
Tytler, in a letter to the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, demanded action against DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK and his allies for "creating and releasing doctored and fabricated video clips to the public, media and other social media sites".
"The alleged video clips are completely false, manipulated, doctored and distorted. Manjit Singh GK and his allies tried to tarnish my image and reputation with a motive to gain undue political mileage. I strongly demand all investigating agencies to bring to book the real culprits involved in this conspiracy," the letter read.
Reacting to the video's release, Sukhbir Singh Badal, president Shiromani Akali Dal, tweeted, "Shiromani Akali Dal made startling revelations against Jagdish Tytler in a sting operation disclosure today. Tytler confessed to killing 100 Sikhs, promises of plum position, managing judiciary as promised by @INCIndia. He should be arrested immediately."
