The inauguration board of the Badli-Siraspur metro extension project

When RTI was filed to know the status of the project, the reply from DMRC said that no such project has been inaugurated by DMRC nor have any tenders been passed.

An RTI filed by former MLA, Devendra Yadav from Badli assembly regarding a project of metro extension has revealed that no such project exists in real. Dr. Udit Raj, MP North West Delhi, had inaugurated Badli-Siraspur metro extension project in December last year where the local councillor Angoori Devi was also present.

As per the document lying with iamin, when RTI was filed to know the status of the project, the reply from DMRC said that no such project has been inaugurated by DMRC nor have any tenders been passed. The information received also revealed DMRC has not even acquired any land for the project.

People have been demanding for a metro station Siraspur village from more than a year after project of extension from Jahangirpuri to Badli was launched by DMRC. But how did the MP inaugurate a project that doesn't exist and for which even no tender has been passed, is still a mystery.

The villagers also sat on protest for more than eight months after which DMRC agreed to extend the metro line up to Siraspur. Trying to cash in on the opportunity, when the assembly elections came closer, the race to grab the credit began and some local BJP leaders arranged for an inauguration ceremony of the project. During this ceremony, BJP MP Dr. Udit Raj inaugurated the project as the chief guest.

Awaiting the project to be started, the villagers have no clue that they were deceived just to get the votes and so such project has been started by DMRC in real.
