The New Delhi Municipal Council will soon upgrade the infrastructure and facilities in its schools across the city, a senior NDMC official said here on Monday.

"All New Delhi Municipal Council schools will soon be upgraded to global standards and various summer and winter vacation workshops will also be organised," the newly sworn-in chairman, Naresh Kumar said at the concluding day of month-long summer vacation workshops.

There are 70 NDMC-run schools in the city. While 56 of them are NDMC palika schools, 11 are Navyug Schools. 24 schools are for primary students, 18 for nursery, 6 middle schools, 4 secondary and 18 are senior secondary schools.

NDMC had conducted month-long workshops at eleven centres during the summer vacation in 12 fields including arts, dance, painting, music and yoga, among others.

Over 970 children between the age group of 8 and 16 years had participated in the workshops. At the concluding ceremony on Monday, certificates and mementos were presented to 44 experts/trainers & guides, who had trained these students.
