New Delhi Municipal Corporation's ATM to give health reports on the spot

The New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has installed a health ATM which will help patients to detect diseases like dengue or malaria instantly. The ATM provides checkup option on over 40 health parameters. The tests will be free of cost, and it is installed at Palika Kendra Dispensary near NDMC convention center.

The ATM is capable of providing instant reports of body temperature, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), dengue, malaria, HIV, typhoid, blood test like haemogram and lipid profile the machine can run an ECG as well.

Once approved, the machines would then be installed at Charak Palika Hopsital, Dharam Marg polyclinic, Palika Maternity and TB polyclinic.

The machines proposed in this year's budget will be handled by an operator who will make sure that the patients do not get troubled by the technical aspects and are provided with the check up facility for free.

"The ATMs is currently operated by me, I make sure that the patients do not get troubled by technical difficulties. The machine will mail the result to patient or they can get printed out results also," said Sushma Singh, operator of Health ATM installed at Palika Kendra.

However for the same the patient would need to consult a doctor at the hospital where the machine is installed. Once the doctor issues a slip with his signature the patient can then avail the facility of the machine.

"The machines have been proposed in the budget of 2019-20, however as per the pilot project we have already installed an ATM at Palika Kendra, people can avail the benefits here and once approved the council will these machines the mentioned hospitals," said NDMC spokesperson MS Sherawat.
