A 45-year-old woman, who a dairy farm owner in the Sector 71 area, was assaulted and thrashed by a group of men before fleeing with as many as half-a-dozen buffaloes and Rs 50,000 cash from her farm on early Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as Savita, a native of the Baghpat district, who owns the dairy farm along with her husband in the Garhi Chaukhandi village.
The victim in her complaint alleged few persons of her village, who also run a dairy farm, of attacking her following an old personal enmity.
"Around 10 men reached the farm on early Tuesday morning and started thrashing Savita mercilessly. There was a heated argument between the two parties on Monday evening, too, but the matter waa settled by the village eleders but on early Tuesday morning they reached the farm and attacked the woman in order to take revenge" read the compliant.
"Based on the compliant received from the victim, we have registered a case against 12 persons of the village and have launched an investigation into the case. The woman's condition is stable and has been discharged from the hospital soon after she receiving treatment" said a senior police officer.
