As hundreds of people in the country die every year due to non-availability of organs, donating an organ can save upto seven lives and tissue donation can save 50 lives

From performing street plays to organizing seminars, this group of six people is on a mission to make people aware about organ donation. As hundreds of people in the country die every year due to non-availability of organs, donating an organ can save upto seven lives and tissue donation can save 50 lives but not many people come forward for this donation due to different reasons.

A year back, six students in Noida, decided to form an organisation ‘Organation,’ a trust which makes people aware about 'Organ donation'. The founder of the organisation, Aman Tandon while speaking to iamin shared that their target audience is the youth, as they account to 65 percent of the population. The organisation believes that if the youth are convinced for the cause, family and relatives can be convinced easily which would help the cause of the organisation.

In the first phase, the group has come up with the idea of Campus ambassador programme, where they are collaborating with different colleges in Delhi-NCR and select one ambassador from each college who they will make aware about this initiative. The chosen ambassador in turn would do the same in his college. 51 colleges in Delhi-NCR have connected with Organation and 39 ambassadors have been short-listed so far. More than 30 thousand students have joined their mission to donate organs so far.

The group also launched a website recently that has all the required information regarding organ donation, from basic questions about the procedure to donate organs to busting the myths related to it. The group has a clear mission of just making people aware about organ donation and after which the decision completely lies with people.
