Three charred to death after accident between two cars in Anand Vihar area

A team reached the spot and they found that two cars, Omni and Eco-Sport, had met with an accident and they were completely burnt, police said.

Three people were charred to death while two were injured in a crash between two cars in Anand Vihar area of Shahdara district on Wednesday evening. Police claimed that they are still connecting the sequence of the incident.

According to the police, they received a police control room call at around 6 pm from a passerby informing about the incident  following which a team was rushed to the spot. 

A team reached the  spot and they found that two cars, Omni and Eco Sport, had met with an accident and they were completely burnt, police said. 

According to fire officials, two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took them more than an hour to douse the blaze completely. 

“During the investigation, it has come to light that Eco Sports hit Omni by jumping from the opposite direction of the carriageway. Soon after the collision the fire took place and gutted the vehicles giving no time to escape. “We have not found any eyewitness and the sequence of events is being checked.

Nobody knows the reason behind the accident and it is being investigated. At the hospital, three people were declared brought dead while two are unfit for statement and are receiving treatment. One of them is very critical,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav.

The police said that the deceased have been identified as Shamshad (28), a resident of Mustafabad and Abdul, both of them were inside Omni whereas the third person Garve Sehgal (30), a resident of Krishna Nagar, was in Eco Sports car. The injured have been identified as Akshay Jain and Imran. 

“Once they are stable, we shall record their statements and further action will be taken,” said Yadav.

CAUSE UNKNOWN

According to fire officials, two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took them more than an hour to douse the blaze completely. Nobody knows the reason behind the accident and it is being investigated.
