A two-day international exhibition for Women Entrepreneurs from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries organised was inaugurated in Hotel Ashok in the city on Wednesday.
It has been organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), the women's wing of FICCI in collaboration with the SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council (SCWEC).
Pinky Reddy, National President, FLO, while inaugurating the exhibition, said, "Keeping in mind the objectives of FLO to uplift the status of women, women entrepreneurs from South Asian countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and India took part in the exhibition. It provides an excellent opportunity to women entrepreneurs to explore marketing tie-ups and collaborations with other women entrepreneurs from the SAARC Region.
The women are showcasing handicraft items including jewellery, carpets, and dry fruits from Afghanistan, fabric from Bhutan, precious stones from Sri Lanka, coral jewellery from Nepal, suits from Pakistan, and Banarasi, Chikankari, and other art and craft items from India.
The main objective of the exhibition is to develop and promote women entrepreneurs in the South Asian region by bringing them together under one roof and providing an attractive platform to showcase their products.
