IPS Lucky Chauhan is an officer of Tripura cadre and presently posted as an SP at Udaipur in Tripura's Gomati district. Lucky is a resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh and was a very good student since childhood. Her father said one such thing in her childhood because of which she wanted to become an IPS officer since she was a little girl.
1. Lucky is from a very small village in UP
Lucky was born in a village called Khurja of the Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Rohtash Singh Chauhan is a property dealer by profession. While her mother, Suman Lata Chauhan is a teacher. According to her father, Lucky was a promising student since childhood.
2. Father's words changed her life
According to a report in the Jansatta, Lucky had secured the first position in a competition when she was in nursery class. After which she was awarded by SP or DM. Seeing this, her father asked her to become SP or DM. This advice stayed in her mind and whenever someone asked her about her dreams, she used to reply what her father had said.
3. Government job after graduation
Lucky opted for science in the 12th class. She then did her graduation in English Literature and History. After completing her graduation, Lucky started working as an Assistant Welfare Administrator. However, her dream was to become an IPS officer. Therefore, she decided to prepare for the UPSC exam.
4. Became IPS after 3 years of hard work
Lucky started preparing for the UPSC exam along with her government job. She worked hard and finally after three years of hard work, she got selected. Lucky secured All India Rank 246 in the year 2012 and became an IPS officer.

Lucky was given the Tripura cadre by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on the basis of her performance during her training. She has served on many important posts in the state till now. She is currently posted as SP of Udaipur in the Gomati district, Tripura.
