BREAKING: West Bengal government cancels Class 10, Class 12 Board Exams 2021

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee had announced on Saturday that state government will form an expert committee for Class 10, 12 exams.

In a significant development, West Bengal government on Monday (June 7) cancelled Class 10, Class 12 Board Exams 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee had announced on Saturday (June 6) that the state government will form an expert committee for West Bengal Board Exams 2021. The committee was formed to recommend whether state board exams for secondary and higher secondary classes should be conducted or not. 

CM Mamta Banerjee said through the series of tweets, “Our children's future is my greatest priority. To this regard, we have formed an expert committee to decide over holding the Class 10th & 12th board exams in 2021.”

The government of West Bengal invited the views/opinion from the general public, guardians/parents, students till today (June 7).

After CBSE, many states have cancelled their respective Class 12 board exams so far amid the COVID-19 situation in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the cancellation of CBSE and CISCE class 12 board Exam 2021 in view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID-19 and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders.
