CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exam 2021: As there has been a recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country, many students, parents and teachers have requested the government to cancel the CBSE board exams for class 10, 12 or postpone the same.

A section of students are requesting the government to cancel board exams, while others are asking for the examinations to be conducted online. Hashtags #CancelBoardExams2021 and #CancelBoards2021 began to trend on Twitter on Tuesday as many students rallied together to protest against the upcoming examinations which will be held via offline mode.

Many state boards have decided to push their board exams this year by a few weeks due to the rise in Covid-19 cases across the country. However, no state has decided to cancel the exams till now.

CBSE assures students' safety

Students argued that they too are at risk of getting infected with Covid-19. However, CBSE has said that the board is taking ample measures to conduct board exams 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The authorities have assured they will take all precautions and follow all Covid protocols while conducting CBSE class 10, 12 board exam 2021.

Students who could not appear for the practical exams for classes 10 or 12 will be given a second chance. Meanwhile, CBSE is also giving candidates a chance to appear for improvement exams in case a student is not happy with their results in the theory papers. The exams will be held immediately after the result and students will have to appear for the compartmental exams. Earlier, for improvement, a student had to wait for an entire year.

CBSE board class 10, 12 exams will be held in the offline mode from May 4 to June 10, with 30 percent of the syllabus reduced.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 exam will be conducted from May 5 to June 7. The Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 12 exam will be held from April 8 to June 16.
