Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' on Thursday said the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce exam schedule for Class 10 and 12 on February 2.

Earlier, Pokhriyal had announced that CBSE Class 10, 12 Board exams 2021 will be held between May 4 and June 10. The Education Minister had made this announcement in a live session, adding that results will be announced on July 15.

Earlier, the CBSE had announced that CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 will be in written mode only and not online.

Historically, the board releases the datesheet about 50 days before the commencement of the examinations. In 2019, however, the CBSE Board Exam 2020 datesheet was released in November and the exams were held from February 15, 2020.

Maharashtra, Bihar, Karnataka, West Bengal. Telangana, Chhattisgarh state boards have already released their board exam 2021 schedule.

Union Education Ministry as well as CBSE have repeatedly asked the students not to fall prey to fake reports on CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams datesheet. The CBSE has suggested the students to regularly visit CBSE's official website to check for the latest updates.

Here are probable reasons for the delay in release of datesheet for CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams 2021:

1) Administrative and logistic reason: Due to COVID-19 outbreak, CBSE will face a huge challenge of maintaining ultra-hygienic requirements like floor sanitization, social distancing, masks, face shields, and sanitisers.

2) Announcement of the election dates: It is widely believed that the announcement of poll dates in 5 states - Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal - could also be the major reason for the delay of the release of CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 date sheet.
