CBSE has already cancelled the Class 10 exams 2021 and postponed the class 12 exams until the coronavirus situation comes under control.

Amid the rising coronavirus COVID-19 cases across the country, several students of CBSE Class 12 are now demanding that the CBSE and the Central government should cancel the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. It is to be noted that many Class 12 students have been tweeting the CBSE, Prime Minister's Office, and Union Education Ministry seeking the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021 due to COVID-19 outbreak. CBSE has already cancelled the Class 10 exams 2021 and postponed the class 12 exams until the coronavirus situation comes under control.

However, several education experts are of the view that it is not a good idea to cancel the CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021. According to several experts, the marks in Class 12 exams are important for judging the performance of students who wish to apply for various entrance exams. The experts asserted that it will not be prudent to evaluate Class 12 students only on the basis of internal assessments as it will be unfair to some students. Many experts maintain that the government could postpone CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021 for few months until the COVID situation comes under control.

"These are unprecedevnted times.  Instead of canceling the Class 12 exams, there is a need to think out-of-the-box and plan to conduct the exams differently. Since the lockdown was announced last year, teachers and students are doing their job quite efficiently. However, canceling the exam outright is certainly not a solution. There is a pressing need for coming up with alternative solutions in conducting the exams this year," a teacher told a leading web portal.

Meanwhile, a CBSE official, while speaking to a leading portal indicated that if the situation worsens, the CBSE may follow the assessment plan of class 10, ‘but it’s too early to say’.

“If the exams could not be conducted in July, then we can not further delay conducting the exam. As the entire exam process takes more than a month including evaluation of copies and result declaration. If suppose the result be declared by the end of August, how will the students take admission in varsities, higher education institutions”, India TV quoted the official as saying.
