The admission process for the Delhi nursery schools, kindergarten and Class 1 have begun in Delhi's private unaided recognised schools for the academic session 2020-21 from Friday.
According to the circular published by the Directorate of Education (DoE), the first merit list will be published on January 24, 2020, the second list on February 12, 2020, and March 16, 2020 will be the end date of the admission process.
The DOE in its circular stated that Rs 25 should be charged from parents as admission fee.
It also stated that there should be 25% reservation for EWS/DG category students and Child with Disability for admission to these pre-school, pre-primary and/or Class-I level children.
"The draw of lots (if any), shall be conducted in a transparent manner in the presence of parents. All the eligible parents of students in the draw of lots will be informed well in advance by the school. The draw of lots will be conducted under videography and its footage to be maintained or retained by the school. The slips will be shown to the parents before putting in the box, is used for the draw of lots," the circular stated.
"The department shall conduct a computerised draw of lots for admission of EWS/DG Category Students in all the private unaided recognized schools and the free ship category students in all the private unaided recognised schools running on government allotted land and regulated by the DoE," it added.
The minimum age of admission for the students should be three years, four years and five years for Pre-school (Nursery), Pre-Primary (KG) and Class-1 respectively.
The upper age limit for the classes mentioned above should be four years, five years and six years, respectively.
The DOE has also stated that the schools should not accept any kind of donation apart from the regular fee charged by the school administration. Anyone caught breaking the above-mentioned provision would be charged a fine which is equivalent to ten times the donation offered by the parents.
