Some media reports claimed that the students appearing for class 10, 12 Board exams 2021 will have to mark their attendance via the biometric system.

As students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are eagerly waiting for the Board exams 2021, some media reports with false or misleading information are being shared. The students of classes 10 and 12 who will be appearing for the Board exams this year should be wary of such reports and confirm the information from other articles and official sources.

Recently, certain media reports claimed that the students appearing for class 10 and 12 CBSE Board exams 2021 will have to mark their attendance during the exams via the biometric system. Some of these reports suggested that this was being done to keep cheating in control during the Board exams 2021.

It has now come out that this information is false. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the government of India carried out a Fact Check report of these claims. The PIB deemed it to be fake news and said that no such decision was taken by the CBSE.

"In some reports, it is being claimed that all the candidates in the CBSE board examinations will have to register their attendance by the biometric system. #PIBFactCheck: This claim is fake. @ cbseindia29 has not made any such announcement," said PIB, in a tweet.

Last month, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' had announced that the central board would conduct the Board Exams 2021 for classes 10 and 12 this year. The exams will take place between May 4 and June 1 but the datesheet has not been released yet. According to recent reports, the Class 10, 12 Board exams 2021 datesheet will be released soon on the CBSE's official website: cbse.nic.in.

The minister also said that the result of the CBSE Board Exams 2021 will come out on July 15.
