JEE Mains 2021: NTA postpones 4th session, check new dates here

Taking to Twitter, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the decision has been taken in wake of students' demands.

To give aspirants a gap of 4 weeks between the third and fourth sessions of JEE Main 2021, the government has postponed the session of the engineering entrance exam. Now the fourth session of JEE Main examination will be held on August 26, 27, and 31, apart from on September 1 and 2.

Earlier, the fourth session of JEE (Main) was scheduled to be held from July 27 to August 2.

Taking to Twitter, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the decision has been taken in wake of students' demands.

"In view of the persistent demand from the student community and to enable the candidates to maximise their performance, the @DG_NTA has been advised to provide a gap of four weeks between session 3 and session 4 of the JEE(Main) 2021 Exam," he tweeted.

"Accordingly, the JEE(Main) 2021 session 4 will now be held on 26th, 27th & 31st August, and on 1st and 2nd September, 2021. A total of 7.32 lakh candidates have already registered for JEE(Main) 2021 session 4," the minister said in another tweet.

"Registrations for the JEE(Main) session 4 is still in progress and dates for registration will be further extended upto 20th July, 2021," he announced.

Notably, the third session of JEE Main examination was to be held from July 20 to 25 and the fourth phase from July 27 to August 2. Only a one-day gap was kept between the two, which seveal candidates were unhappy with. Candidates were demanding for an increase in the gap between the two phases so that they could prepare. There was a gap of 15 days in the first and second stage exams. Now with this new announcement, the demand of the candidates has been accepted.
