Starting from academic year 2023-24, the Karnataka government has allowed the conduct of Summative Assessment 2 for students in Class 9 and annual examinations for students in Class 11. The Karnataka board currently holds yearly exams for students in classes 10 and 12, as well as assessment tests for students in classes 5 and 8.
This step by the Karnataka government has been taken to help students better learn by unfailingly following their learning curves across all levels. The Karnataka State Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council (KSQAAC) will publish the question papers for the Class 9 Summative Assessment-2 and the concerned Deputy Director of the School Education Department will present it at the state level and make it accessible to concerned field education officials.
The Class 9 question papers will be emailed to the respective Block Education Officer’s (BEO) secure online account. On the other hand, question papers for class 11 will be sent to the appointed Deputy Director of Pre-University (DDPU). The PU Examination Section of the Karnataka School Examination and Evaluation Board will prepare the Class 11 Annual Examination question papers at the state level.
The Head Masters and Principals will post the test results of the students on the “Students Achievement Tracking System (SATS)” portal.
A supplementary exam will also be held at the relevant university/ college level if the student fails the annual Class 11 exam.
