The Manipur government has cancelled the Manipur Board exams for class 10 and 12, 2021 on Wednesday.

The Manipur government has cancelled the Manipur Board exams for class 10 and 12, 2021 on Wednesday. Education Minister of Manipur S Rajen Singh has announced the cancellation of the Council of Higher Secondary Education of Manipur (COHSEM) and Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) which conducts exams 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The announcement was made separately for COHSEM which conducts class 10 and BOSEM which conducts class 12 exams.

 

In his notification, Secretary S Mangijao of BoSEM said “In view of the uncertain conditions due to Covid-19 pandemic and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it is hereby notified that the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2021 is cancelled.”

 

Secretary Ch Biren Singh of CoHSEM, said, “Secretariat, Education(S) Department, Government of Manipur in connection with the cancellation of the Higher Secondary Examinations, 2021, it is notified that the Higher Secondary and the Class XI Examinations, 2021 stand cancelled.”

 

“It is further notified that the modus operandi of the award of marks, certificates to the students shall be done with due approval of the government,” it stated.

 

It may be recalled that on June 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 due to the COVID-19 situation in the country. The CBSE later announced that it will take steps to compile the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.
