Despite facing several difficulties in life, many students have beat the odds to get admission into prestigious institutes in India. One such person is Gagan, who used to work as a daily wager and but later cracked JEE Advanced 2024 to get into IIT BHU. He has secured admission into IIT BHU in Electrical and Communication Engineering.
Gagan is a small-town boy from Atrauli in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh. He managed to crack IIT despite his humble background with an All India Rank (AIR) 5286. His father worked as a godown keeper at a gas agency. Gagan and his elder brother worked alongside their father to support him, lifting gas cylinders for a daily wage of Rs 350.
During an interaction with Alakh Pandey, founder and CEO of Physics Wallah (PW), Gagan revealed he took a year off to devote himself entirely to his studies. His ultimate goal was to get into IIT. Gagan revealed that he worked during the day and studied online at night through his mobile phone.
Seeing his hard work and dedication, Alakh Pandey offered him a Rs 4 lakh scholarship. Pandey also offered Gagan and his older brother jobs at Physics Wallah so they wouldn't have to work as labourers. Now the video of his success journey has gone viral on social media.
