Meet IAS Ananya Das, IIT graduate, cracked UPSC CSE in first attempt, secured AIR…

Every year, thousands of candidates apply to take the UPSC Civil Services Examination, which is well-known for its strict selection process. Only a few candidates manage to navigate the large sea of applicants and fulfil their aspirations of working as civil officials. IAS Ananya Das is one such extraordinary achiever whose journey is a shining example of devotion, brilliance, and persistence. 

Ananya Das was born on May 15, 1992, and is an Odia native. Her father used to work in the Bank of India but is currently retired. 

She showed outstanding academic talent at a young age, and her love of learning helped her acquire an engineering degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.

IAS Ananya Das cracked UPSC CSE in the first attempt and secured AIR 16. 

She started working as a software engineer in a multinational corporation for a short period of time after she completed her BTech.

Ananya is a 2015 Gujarat cadre IAS officer. She was the state topper that year in UPSC CSE.  She formerly served as the Cuttack Municipal Corporation's commissioner. 

Currently, Ananya is serving as the Collector and DM of Sambalpur. Ananya was wed to IAS Chanchal Ran, an IAS officer from the class of 2014. She earlier married to IAS Abdaal Akhtar but got divorced soon after.
