It is widely known that cracking any civil services examination is very tough. It calls for a great deal of discipline and concentration. Every year lakhs of students appear in the UPSC exam but only a few hundred manage to clear it and become an IAS, IPS or IFS officer. Here we will talk about Smriti Mushra’s journey who managed to clear the UPSC exam and became an inspiration for many.

Smriti devoted 3 years of her career to cracking the UPSC civil services examination and securing AIR 4. She went through a tough yet thrilling journey to crack UPSC. 

She failed twice but her smart work finally paid off. Her inspiration was her father. Rajkumar Mishra, who is also a civil servant. 

Smriti hails from Prayagraj and she did her schooling in St. Clair's Higher Secondary School, Agra and a BSc in life sciences from Miranda House (Delhi University). She is currently pursuing law and writing her final semester. Her mother and brother Lokesh Mishra, who is a lawyer in the Supreme Court are with her in Delhi. 

She also shared her secret of answer writing. She claimed that even before qualifying prelims, candidates practice composing answers. Smriti used practice, answering questions from the previous year, current events, and her own handwritten notes as the key components of her answer writing.
