The path to success undoubtedly entails total dedication and commitment. Candidates appearing for competitive exams are aware of how crucial it is to concentrate on their work without getting sidetracked. However, it is simpler said than done. Despite the odds, an academically gifted tribal girl student from a small agency in the Kothagudem district of Bihar was accepted into IIT Patna.
Korsa Lakshmi, the student, was born to Kannayya and Shanthamma, a Koya tribal couple from the Katayagud village of the district's Dummugudem Mandal. Both of her parents are illiterate. Her mother is a housewife, while her father canvasses the neighbouring villages for ice popsicles.
Despite their lack of education, her parents enrolled her at the Gurukul, where she pursued education from class seventh to intermediate. Lakshmi's dedication resulted in a perfect 10/10 GPA on her SSC exams.
Lakshmi cleared her Intermediate (MPC) exams with a 992 score out of 1000 during the academic year 2021-23. Her preparation for the JEE Mains and Advanced was conducted under the guidance of skilled instructors at the Bhadrachalam Tribal Gurukul Centre of Excellence (CoE).
She got admission to the BTech (EEE) programme at IIT, Patna after securing a 1371 ranking in JEE Advanced exam. As a result, she became an inspiration to many young girls and demonstrated that no goal is out of reach and that everyone, despite their poor family background.
As per various media reports, Lakshmi's educational journey received support from ITDA Bhadrachalam. Prateek Jain, the Project Officer of ITDA, and David Raju, the Regional Coordinating Officer of Tribal Gurukuls and ITDA APO (General), appreciated her exceptional performance in the IIT exams.
