Hyderabad's Naina Jaiswal isn’t just the youngest female PhD holder in the country but is also a champion sportsperson.

India is home to several child prodigies who have completed education in record quick time ahead of the lot. One such child prodigy is Naina Jaiswal, who isn’t just the youngest female PhD holder in the country but is also a sportsperson, national and international champion in Table Tennis.

Hyderabad’s Naina Jaiswal shows signs of genius at an early age. At just 8 when other kids are still in primary school, Naina coped with the intensity of board exams and cleared Class 10. At 10 years of age, she had school done and dusted. She then picked up a bachelor's degree in mass communication and journalism, graduating at 13 years old.

Naina then broke the record for Asia’s youngest postgraduate when she completed her master's degree in political science from Hyderabad’s Osmania University at just 15 years of age. She also holds a graduation degree in law.

But Naina did not stop there, She began her PhD at just 17 and became India’s youngest doctoral degree holder at 22. Her dissertation was on the contribution of microfinance in women empowerment.

Naina is not just an ace academic but also a champion sportswoman. She is a leading Table Tennis player who is a national and South Asian champion. She has won many medals in domestic and overseas tournaments. Her parents homeschooled her to ensure she was able to balance her sporting talent along with record-breaking academic progress.
