NTA NEET 2021 entrance exam CANCELLATION, re-exam: Big updates students need to know - Details inside

It may be recalled that NEET 2021 entrance exam was conducted on September 12 (Sunday) in offline mode in around 202 cities across the country.

In a significant development, several medical aspirants have submitted a detailed representation before the National Testing Agency (NTA) demanding a re-exam and CBI investigation into the NEET 2021 entrance exam. The NEET 2021 entrance exam candidates also mentioned about the change exam pattern for the first time since its inception in 2016 and said that the NTA must gove them more time to adapt to the paper pattern.

“The sudden change in the exam pattern before exam had caused stress among students. We need some more time to adapt ourselves to the new exam pattern since this was the medical entrance exam held across the country only once a year”, the candidates said. Earlier, it was said by the NTA that changes were introduced in NEET 2021 entrance exam question paper keeping in mind the reduced syllabus by various school education boards for Class 12 students due to COVID-19 outbreak.

Here are some points from the representation submitted by students:-

- The alleged paper leak or the cheating case during NEET 2021 entrance exam was first reported at a centre in Rajasthan and the paper was circulated via whatsapp and other means to the other place for preparation of answer keys.

- NEET 2021 entrance exam dates were very near to state-level CETs and various board examinations and it posed various problems to the students during travel.

- On September 7, 2021, students had submitted a written draft to NTA office regarding the conduction of NEET phase 2 and it was said that a response would be given within 24 hours to 48 hours but no official response has been received till now.

It may be recalled that NEET 2021 entrance exam was conducted on September 12 (Sunday) in offline mode in around 202 cities across the country. Around 16 lakh candidates appeared for NEET 2021 entrance exam.

It is expected that the NTA would release NEET 2021 entrance exam answer key on September 25. The NTA is likely to announce NEET 2021 entrance exam result on October 10. The NTA, however, is yet to make any official announcement in this regard. 

If two candidates score the same marks, a tie-breaker formula will be used by NTA to calculate their marks. A candidate who has got higher marks in Biology will get preference in ranking. If the tie still exists, the marks of candidates in chemistry will get preference. If the tie still persists, the candidates with fewer incorrect answers in all papers will be ranked higher.
