Media reports, however, state that certain experts have voted against the postponement of the exam and have raised concerns if NEET 2021 is delayed.

After its postponement during the second wave of COVID-19, the National Testing Agency (NTA) scheduled the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination to be held on September 12, 2021.

However, on Thursday, with the exam dates close, the students are now demanding the postponement of the exam. Several students took to Twitter and started trending #shiftNEETUG 2021. In addition to this, a poll conducted by a media house also revealed that 88% of students want the exam to be deferred.

The reason behind the postponement that the students are giving is that the exam date which is September 12 is close to CBSE 12th Board Exams 2021 for Physics and Maths subjects. The ICAR AIEEA 2021 exam will also be held on September 13, a day after NEET.

Keeping this in mind, various students are demanding that there should be a gap between these exams so as the students don't feel pressurised. Students have asked NTA to postpone the exam by 20-25 days.

Media reports, however, state that certain experts have voted against the postponement of the exam and have raised concerns if NEET 2021 is further delayed.

Experts state that it is imperative to conduct the exam on the given date as it has already been enough delays due to the coronavirus pandemic and the deadly second wave.

Experts believe that it is important to complete the admission cycle by December and hence the exam should be conducted no later than September 12. Addressing the concerns about the CBSE exam dates conflicting with NEET exams, experts said the students appearing for the CBSE exams are quite a few in numbers, and therefore it should not be a roadblock.
