The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) is inviting applications for 23rd State Eligibility Test (SET) Assistant Professor posts. WBCSC SET exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 9, 2022. The last date to apply for SET is September 15.
WBCSC will conduct SET in 33 subjects at selected Test Centres of different Districts of West Bengal.
“Eligibility for Assistant Professor will depend on the performance of the candidate in both the papers of SET in aggregate. Candidates who qualify the Test for eligibility for Assistant Professor will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor in West Bengal,” the Commission has said.
The exam fee is Rs1200 for the general category, Rs300 for SC, ST, PwD and transgender candidates and Rs600 for OBC and EWS candidates.
The exam would comprise two papers: Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, are intended to assess the teaching, research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test the reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. All the questions of Paper-II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabi of earlier Paper II & Paper – III (including all electives, without options). The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper – I & Paper – II on the OMR Sheet provided along with the test booklet.
