IIMA prof named MICA director

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), which has been taken care of by the in-charge director for more than six months, finally got a new director on Tuesday. The institute's Mumbai office announced the name of Prof Nagesh Rao of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) as the director of MICA.

Rao has served as faculty of communication at IIMA since August 2010. He completed his PhD in Communication from Michigan State University in 1994. Rao will take over the charge on March 31. Rao told DNA that MICA's vision and priorities could not be created just by its director.

"I wish to co-create it with MICA colleagues as it is just as much their vision as mine. My philosophy is to start with the many strengths MICA already has  and then build from there," he said.
