At the MTV Video Music Awards 2015, all eyes were on host Miley Cyrus. The former Disney star had twerked her way into headlines with a latex lingerie-clad performance of 'Blurred Lines' with Robin Thicke at the 2013 VMA show. While Cyrus embraced her raunchy side, her performance at the VMAs was lacklustre.
Leading the nominee list, Taylor Swift took home four awards including top honour, Video of the Year. Justin Bieber gave a teary performance of his song 'Where are you now' while Kanye West was awarded the Video Vanguard Award, accepting which he announced his 2020 presidential run!
The biggest announcement at the show, however, was of Cyrus' new album which she released online and made available for free.
Nicki Minaj's controversial 'Anaconda' had to make do with winning Best Hip Hop video. Minaj's tweets calling out the VMAs snubbing her for Video of the Year, became a controversy when Taylor Swift responded to her remarks. While the duo reconciled and sealed the deal with a duet at VMAs, Miley Cyrus did not find herself in Minaj's good graces.

For a show known for going off-script and giving us outrageous moments, the VMAs this time around were quite tame.
