Tell us how difficult it is for actors who don’t have a lineage or Godfathers in the industry.
It’s difficult but not impossible. I think if you pray to God, love your parents and be honest to yourself nothing is impossible in this world or any field. My father passed away when I was 24. For three years, I struggled and no one came to my rescue, though millions of promises were made. I have fought my own battle bravely and hopefully emerged victorious.

What attracted you to do Kabir Sadanand’s drama Tum Milo Toh Sahi?
It’s the script that Kabir wrote that attracted me towards it. There was so much honesty in it that I was floored by the narration. I was just a couple of films old and these films had not done well at the box office. But Kabir had complete faith that I will pull it off the best. I’m glad I didn’t let him or my audience down. Today the success of this film has humbled and taught me a lot.

What genre of movies attract you and why?
I’m an actor. I’d love to do all kinds of films, big or small does not matter to me — what does is whether it’s good or bad. It’s something that I learnt from Mukesh Bhatt the producer of my debut film Awarapan. Though a few of my films didn’t work, I always told myself you have to die to be reborn. With Tum Milo Toh Sahi, I feel reborn.

What are the projects you are working on right now?
I now have a film with Nikhil Panchamiya again and one hopefully with Kabir Sadanand. I’m very fond of Kabir and I hope he casts me again. Rest

You are seeing actor Anjana Sukhani isn’t it?
I’m not seeing anyone.
