As a part of the first Mud Rush festival in India — encompassing 30-foot stacks of hay, water bodies, barrier walls, 100 feet stretches of tires, 45 degree hills, fire, ice, and, of course, a whole lot of mud — DJ Dinka will be playing in Kolad this weekend.
Excerpts from an interview:
Coming back to India after a year, how different do you expect this gig to be?
More than a year actually! It’s going to be a huge comeback. And who knows there might be some familiar faces.
You’ll be playing alongside Martin Roth and Weekend Heroes during the first ever Mud Rush in India. How much of an adventure enthusiast are you?
Hmmm, depends if I’m wearing heels or not. One thing’s for sure — if they roll in the mud, I will too.
Your single Elements is just about to release on Beatport and iTunes, how excited are you for this track?
Very much! It will be the first time ever that I’ll play it outside the studio, in kolad and I just can’t wait.
Your style has always been Progressive House, do you think the setting of Kolad surrounded by nature is the perfect location for your style?
Can’t wait to find out (smiles). I’m quite excited and to be a part of the debut Rush. It only makes it bigger and better.
The EDM scene in India has been growing at a immense pace, are you looking to collaborate with any Indian artists in the future?
I’m always interested in international collaborations you know. I’m working on a project with an Irish singer at the time, but as I mentioned maybe there will be an opportunity in the future.
