During an Exclusive interaction with DNA, Aditi Rao Hydari clarified about returning to Malayalam cinema after 14 years.

Aditi Rao Hydari's Malayalam movie Sufiyum Sujatayum has finally streamed on Amazon Prime Video. This film is the first Malayalam flick to get a digital release. Interestingly, Aditi had a brief role in the 2006 Malayalam movie Prajapathi which starred Mammootty in the leading role. However, during an exclusive interaction with DNA, Aditi clarified that she was called in as a dancer in the film and Sufiyum Sujatayum is indeed her debut film as an actor in Malayalam.

On quizzed about returning to Malayalam cinema after 14 years, Aditi stated, "No, I never acted in Prajapathi. I was just called on as a dancer. So I can't call it my first movie. I am sorry. I'm tired of explaining this. It's very embarrassing for me because people think that's my movie but it's really really not."

Here take a look at her sequences in Prajapathi:

She further spoke about her debut movie by saying, "My first movie was called Sringaram. Even I was not an actor then, I was a dancer. I played a dancer in the movie and I had a double role in. So that's my legit first movie. Then, I took a little time and I joined the industry in 2010-11. Then after having worked in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, I'm now working in a Malayalam movie as an actor. Sufiyum Sujathayum is my movie and I very proudly say that."

Aditi was also asked if she was offered a Malayalam before Sufiyum Sujatayum. To which she replied, "I was recently about a year or so, was offered a film. But it was a bit complicated, I think, then they went ahead with somebody else. I think date wise or I don't know, maybe they just changed their mind. But I didn't end up doing that."
