The DJ, who played in India last year, has collaborated with Bollywood singer Sonu Niigam for a track Indian Levels. Excerpts from an e-mail interview...

How did the collaboration come about?
I love creating a new version of my tracks and my record label Universal Music suggested Sonu who is a great artist. When my management told me about him, I was very happy to collaborate with an artist of his caliber. I think the track is really great, it’s one of the best versions of Levels out there.

What about Bollywood/Indian films?
Honestly, I haven’t watched any but I’m aware of how integrated music is in your films which is fantastic...

You’ve been nominated for a Grammy... excited?
I’m definitely excited, it’s a huge honour to be nominated for a Grammy. It’s a massive platform to be recognised on and I can’t wait... just to be nominated in itself is an achievement.

What’s the best memory you have of India?
I loved the India gig, the crowds had a good energy and it was an amazing experience for me as a performer. I was surprised at how popular the music is here and how much people actually know about it and love it.
