Comfy in casuals Madhuri Dixit-Nene talks to us about her brand 'Madz'

Film-less and on on a break from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Madhuri Dixit-Nene isn’t whiling away her free time. Instead, she ahs ventured into something new.

“After launching her online dance academy Dance With Madhuri, the actress has launched her own apparel and clothing brand, Madz,” informs a source close to the actress.

Like DWM, this too, is a brainchild of Madhuri’s husband Sriram Nene. “The line is based on Madhuri’s artwork. The team and she have had a hand in every aspect — from design to the garment selection, photo shoots, website creation to fulfillment,” the source told us.

She tells us about the inception of the brand in her own words...

The idea
“Madz and Timeless were two concepts which seemed to fit who I am.  For Madz, we wanted to create a pret line of clothing that epitomised my approach to life: outstanding quality, great values, and good for everyone.”

Doodling away!
“In addition to the DWM line, we had launched my Bollywood doodles.  Many may know that I love to draw and doodle. Throughout my career, my art represented the greater tapestry of what was going on around me. In this sense, the doodles were born on the sets of Bollywood. We thought it would be amazing to capture this art and put it onto a fun, comfortable clothing line for everyone.”

Creatively involved
“I have thousands of doodles and drawings. The actual cuts and styles will be a collaborative effort. As we grow, we will extend the line to other artists and actors.”

Dance-friendly tees
“The DWM shirts are engineered to be great for dancing and workouts. We have used a combination of cotton and lycra. The goal is to make you look good and feel good while dancing/ working out.”

What’s next?
“We are working on variety of workout apparel for dance and other activities including leggings, hip-hop pants, hoodies. Madz is all about looking good, feeling good and being part of something. Live the life you always wanted to live!”
