Rakul Preet Singh

The movie, which has been shot in Andhra Pradesh and in Bolivia, is releasing on April 22.

Rakul Preet Singh is all set to see the release of her movie with Allu Arjun release on Friday. Directed by Boyapti Srinu, Sarrainodu will see Singh in a new avatar and the top Tollywood actress is quite excited about it. Speaking to dna, she talks about the film, her co-star Allu Arjun and more:

Tell us about your role.

It’s a beautiful role and very different from what I have played before. In this film, I play a village girl who is very simple and innocent. For the first time, I have worn no make-up in a film! I don’t wear much make-up otherwise and I didn’t have to spend time on make-up at all for this film. I loved that. The character is also different in terms of how she speaks and her body language.

The Sarrainodu trailer has been the talk of the town.

Going by the trailer people may think that Sarrainodu is a complete action film but it is not. It’s a movie that has action but also an emotional connect. I am quite excited about the film.

Ram Charan is a good dancer and so is Allu Arjun (Bunny).

When I came into the industry, I had two left feet. Now I have two feet. (Laughs) My dance has improved a lot because I have worked with such wonderful dancers. I am really happy about that.

How was it working with Bunny?

He is dedicated and hardworking. There are other actors who are also dedicated but Allu Arjun wants to go a level higher and pushes himself a lot.

Catherine Tresa is also in the film.

Our roles are very different. She plays an MLA in the film and we shot only for about two days together. She’s a sweet person.

You dubbed for Bruce Lee. What about this film?

I haven’t dubbed for this movie for the simple reason that the character speaks a Rajahmundary dialect of Telugu.

Sarrainodu is produced by Bunny’s father Allu Arvind. Did he drop by on the set?

Yes, he would come to the sets and he has such an amazing sense of humour. He would keep us in splits. Since I didn’t wear make-up for this role, he would tell me that he didn’t feel like he was talking to a heroine! (Laughs)
